“I would love for him to fight Moses,” Warren said Fight Hub TV when asked if he wanted Joshua to face Itauma.
The Queensberry promoter was then asked if that bout would create too much risk ahead of a Fury fight.
“Of course it will,” Warren said. “He will ruin it.”
Warren then explained exactly why he felt Joshua would avoid the fight.
“Because Moses will knock him out,” Warren said. “He will do to him what Tyson will do to him.”
The comments add to the growing hype surrounding Itauma, who has quickly become one of the most talked about heavyweight prospects in boxing.
Later in the media session, Warren also talked a lot about Itauma while discussing the heavyweight division.
“Moses is fighting on the 8th of August in London at the O2,” Warren said. “We will announce his opponent soon.”
Joshua is still expected to move towards a fight with Fury after years of failed negotiations between the two British heavyweights, although Warren appeared confident about how that bout would end as well.
“He will do to him what Tyson will do to him,” Warren reiterated when talking about Itauma possibly facing Joshua.
Itauma has continued to garner attention for his speed, power and quick finishes, with some fans already touting the 20-year-old as a future heavyweight champion despite his limited professional experience.
