Ahead of his return from injury at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, seven-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has spoken out about the reality of competing in the premier class with ‘physical limitations’.

In a statement to reporters, he said, “Over the past four years, I have been able to adapt my riding to my physical abilities.” Motosan. “If you compare how I rode in 2019 to how I ride now in 2025, it’s a completely different rider.
“I mean, I’m riding very carefully to keep the bike from moving, but that was an adaptation process, the thing is, you need a certain minimum level of fitness to compete in the top category.
“So that’s what I’m working on – feeling good, getting my right arm to a minimum level of fitness so I can ride at a higher level and compete with the younger riders.”
