“‘When I come back from injury, I’m in a dark room for the first week and everything is black. So what I do is sit on the swing by myself and look at my house and start thinking about what I need to be happy and come back.

“He organizes everything and clears his head to figure out what to do to get out of the hole he’s in. He’s been in and out of the hole, he’s been out of the hole eight times, it’s amazing.”

Marquez’s mental recovery from the injury is exhausting, and it makes sense why Chercoles wouldn’t expect to come back from another injury if he gets hurt again.
