Keyshawn Davis defeats Nahir Albright in Rematch Fight

Keyshawn Davis (15-0, 10 KOs) settled his rivalry with Nahir Albright (17-3-1, 7 KOs) with a wide 12-round unanimous decision victory in their rematch, winning by scores of 118-108, 118-108 and 117-109 in front of his hometown crowd.

Davis controlled most of the fight with speed, footwork, sharp combinations and steady body shots after their first meeting in 2023 was later changed to a no-contest. He set the pace early, repeatedly punching Albright and building a comfortable lead through the opening rounds.

Albright had his best moment in the fifth round when he landed a hard right hand that briefly caught Davis’ attention, but Davis quickly recovered and regained control behind his jab and combination punch.

The fight became messy at times due to repeated clinch and hold, especially from Davis during exchanges on the inside. The strangest moment came in the seventh round when Davis lifted Albright to the canvas during a takedown, leading the referee to deduct two points.

Despite the penalty, Davis remained in command in the second half of the fight and closed strong in the championship rounds, landing combinations while Albright continued to survive and counter. Albright showed toughness throughout and made it to the final bell, but he struggled to sustain long stretches of offense against Davis’ sharper and faster work.

Davis predicted a knockout before the fight, but was unable to stop Albright, who remained durable even while consistently losing rounds. The win still served as a convincing performance for Davis, who removed any remaining controversy from their previous meeting and continued to build his position among the top names in junior welterweight.

After the fight, Davis hinted at bigger fights to come and again discussed the possibility of eventually moving up to welterweight.
