Jorge Lorenzo has clarified his comments on Ducati after naming their 2026 bike as a ‘Tractor’.
Lorenzo, 39, is a three-time MotoGP world champion, winning the 2010, 2012 and 2015 races for Yamaha.
The Spaniard is a two-time champion in the 250cc world championship, winning in 2006 and 2007.
Recently, while appearing on an episode Duralavita PodcastLorenzo compared Ducati and Aprilia bikes and labeled the former 2026 Challenger as a ‘tractor’.
Lorenzo said: “The Aprilia bike is amazing, it sticks to the ground and turns like a mini bike, whereas the Ducati feels like a tractor.
How do you expect Marc Marquez to fare if he returns to the Italian GP?
We are now talking to a Spanish news outlet. Make a markLorenzo clarified his opinion of “Tractor” by stating that there is no bad intention.
The 39-year-old man explained why he called Ducati A ‘tractor’ is because it is ‘big, rough and weighs little’.
Lorenzo He said: “That’s how it came out. But what I want to explain is that the Ducati is big, rough, a little heavy, especially when cornering… It’s not an accident.
“It’s not really an accident, it’s a very competitive bike that wins races and is not far behind the Aprilia.
“Since the pre-season, when I saw how the Aprilia handles on the track, I said, ‘This bike will win,’ because it leans more, it has much better cornering speed, and I saw it clearly.”
“And of course, when the races come, not only the factory riders are there, Ogur is there, Raul Fernandez is there, and that’s the reason, that’s because the bike has something more.”
Is this Luigi Daleigna’s biggest hint that Francesco Bagnaia will leave Ducati at the end of 2026?
Lorenzo continued to praise 2026 Aprilia bike, calling it ‘amazing’ and ‘very efficient’.
The Spaniard added: “It’s amazing. It’s very compact, very low and very agile, leans more, leans more, it’s like it’s stuck to the ground, it’s fast in the tightest left or right chicanes.”
“I’ve been following this all my life, so I, who have big eyes, immediately saw it and said, ‘If Ducati doesn’t do anything between now and the start of the season, it’s impossible’.”
