There are a lot of cool gadgets in the world of golf equipment that don’t always fit well The most requested tests OR Buyers Guides. You still want to know how it works. In our We Tried it series, we put the equipment to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What did we try?
Jordan’s Newest Golf Shoes: The Jordan Grind.
Who tried it?
Tyler. Soft goods testing manager and sports card enthusiast. Jordan golf shoes have been hit or miss for me in the past. The Jordan Grind is totally in my “hit” category.
I’ve been wearing Jordan basketball shoes since I was in 5th grade, and Jordan Golf shoes for about two years – I know my stuff.
subversion

- The Air Zoom unit used in the forefoot is a nice touch.
The forefoot features an Air Zoom unit that didn’t do much for cushioning, but helped with bounce, energy return, and the overall responsiveness of the shoe. If you walk a lot, you’ll be happy to know that your feet will get some extra help. - The rubber outsole is a Beefy 5-ply Burrito (that’s a good thing).
The outsole is built to provide extra support if you’re walking and riding and this was evident during the rounds I wore the Jordan Grind. - Lace supports help you stay locked in.
I haven’t worn many golf shoes that have extra lace support, but if your golf shoes get looser during the round or don’t stay tight at first, you’ll appreciate the extra technology. - The style is unmatched.
I don’t have the best memory in the world, but it’s good enough to know that the Jordan Grind is one of the more stylish options that Jordan Golf has released in recent years. If you’re a sneakerhead, the Jordan Grind should be considered. - The Jordan Grind is much less rigid than previous Jordan Golf shoes.
I recently tested the Air Jordan 9 G alongside the Air Jordan 14 G and let me tell you: “tough” is an understatement. The Jordan Grind is a refreshing reset that offers a much more durable build.
Negative sides

There really weren’t many downsides per se that I encountered when testing the Jordan Grind golf shoes, but there were two things that made the experience a little less enjoyable.
- The Jordan Grind is a heavy duty golf shoe.
If big golf shoes aren’t your thing, I’m warning you in advance. These aren’t comparable to Reebok’s “The Question” golf shoes, but they are slightly larger than the Jordan 1 G. - Traction is above average, but not S-Tier.
If you’re looking for elite traction, choose a studded option from Jordan Golf. I was impressed with the rubberized design and overall fit, but it’s still not quite up to par with other studded options on the market. I’m not sure I trust them to hold up well in super wet conditions.
Final Thoughts

Overall, the Jordan Grind is a solid golf shoe and one of the best Jordan Golf offerings available.
I think one of the brand’s strengths is its ability to appeal to multiple age groups. There are some Jordan Golf shoes that speak more to different ages, but the Jordan Grind is a timeless golf shoe.
Don’t get me wrong. This isn’t a market-leading golf shoe, but for $165, don’t go overboard. You will be pleased with the feel of the Jordan Grind.
