Aaron Rai is our newest grand championby virtue of a fine showing at the PGA Championship at Aronimink on Sunday.
The 31-year-old from England pulled away from the group with a strong round of five-under 65 to win the Wanamaker Trophy by three shots. Jon Rahm and Alex Smalley.
Rai, who had seven wins on his resume before his PGA triumph, is a player who does things his way. He plays with not one but two gloves made of MacWetan English company that manufactures performance sports gloves for outdoor activities such as polo, show jumping, horse racing, shooting and more.

Rai has an attractive reason for its use with ironclad: Growing up, he was aware of the sacrifices his parents made to support his golf development. When he got his first premium set of clubs as a kid, he wanted to protect them as best he could, so he used iron covers – a habit that continues to this day.
“Even though on the PGA Tour, we get equipment and we’re given everything we need, it’s more out of principle,” Rai said of his irons in the wake of his victory on Sunday. “The value of not losing perspective of what I have and where I am.”
