Asked to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan got off to a scary start as India’s pace attack left them in a precarious position in the opener. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and Rehmat Shah all went cheap and struggled for the pace of the visitors.

After Rohit’s dismissal, Shreyas Iyer ensured there were no late hiccups, finishing unbeaten on 20 off 19 balls with two powerful sixes as India reached 224 for 1 with 21 overs to spare.
Afghanistan’s bowlers found little help throughout the innings. Veteran all-rounder Nabi took the single wicket Rashid Khan, Farid Ahmed Malik and the rest of the offense failed to stem the flow of runs.
