Hamzah Sheeraz stops Alem Begic in two rounds

By the second lap, the finish line had already begun to develop.

Sheeraz began to land with more confidence, using his jab and straight punches to create openings for combinations. The end came after Sheeraz landed a left uppercut before driving a left hook into Begic’s body, sending him to the canvas in agony.

Begic tried to recover but was unable to beat the count, ending the fight in the second round.

The performance was one of the most emphatic wins of Sheeraz’s career and continued his rise as one of the top young names in super middleweight. Known for his size, composure and finishing ability, Sheeraz once again showed all those qualities in a fight that put him on the world title stage for the first time.

The win also moved him into the middle of several potential high-profile options at 168 pounds.

With the division featuring names like Canelo Alvarez, Christian Mbilli and other title holders, Sheeraz’s dominant finish immediately cemented his standing in a crowded title picture. Saturday’s performance also reinforced how dangerous he can be once opponents are forced into close range in exchange.

For Begic, the defeat was the first loss of his professional career.

The Bosnian contender entered the fight with a strong knockout record of his own, but he struggled to deal with Sheeraz’s range, precision and body punching once the pace picked up. The end came suddenly, but the control Sheeraz exerted early on made the outcome feel more and more inevitable before the stoppage came.
