Check out these 3D printed shoes for an exact fit.
FITASY was created by a multidisciplinary team of material scientists and engineers who share a passion to change the footwear industry. Using their collective skills, they have created a fully recyclable, 3D printed precision shoe for movement, well-being and recovery.
Reimagining the shoes from above, Fitasy shoes provide 3D metric lining for comfort and recovery. Made to order, they also reduce environmental impact and reduce waste.
With diverse experience from world-class institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and leading manufacturing, engineering and design companies, the Fitasy team brings deep technical expertise to redefine the footwear industry.
Redefining the possibilities of data-driven precision shoe design, the Stride 1.0 shoe was developed.

STEP 1.0:
The Stride 1.0 was the brand’s first shoe and uses an innovative 3D printing process to create a shoe that not only supports everyday movement and recovery, but also stimulates the feet through 3D lattices.
The unique design is printed entirely without adhesives or complex assembly processes and is integrated with an optimized three-layer pad harmonized with advanced precision.
The shock-absorbing outsole instantly reduces impact for a smooth and long-lasting ride experience, while the precision-fit design gently anchors the foot for a uniquely forgiving feel.
Being an open 3D construction also means breathability is second to none, allowing air to circulate freely around the feet, keeping you cool and fresh.
In the emerging category of rehabilitation footwear, the Fitasy Stride 1.0 with its unique 3D printed design creates a structure that adds something very different to the field and marks an effective shift for active rehabilitation.
Custom fit
The Stride 1.0 launched the brand’s 3D manufacturing process, but it’s customization and design where the brand ultimately sees the future of its footwear.
Yujun Wang, CEO and co-founder, told AW: “While most people can find a shoe that fits in a shoe size off the shelf, about 20% of people struggle to get a good fit. This is where Fitasy can fine-tune the fit, shape, size and design of the shoe for the perfect fit.”
Fitasy will also allow custom shoe orders. The Fitasy Stride 2.0 allows customers to order just a left or right shoe, rather than a pair.
For customers who only need one shoe, this removes a long-standing barrier.
Steph Reed, MBE PLY, World Champion, Paralympian, says: “When I run, I use artificial running shoes, so I only need one shoe. For years, that meant buying a pair and leaving them unused. It was a waste of money and an unnecessary investment in a landfill. It never made sense to me.
“That’s why I’m really excited that there’s finally a change in the industry. Innovations like Fitasy’s 3D printing and foot scanning technology show what’s really possible when shoes are designed around people with real needs, not just the average customer.”

Why hasn’t this been done before?
Traditional shoe manufacturing is based on making and selling pairs. Manufacturing, stocking, and retailing individual shoes is much less commercially viable, so most brands have historically ignored this small group of customers altogether.
Thanks to the advanced 3D printing technology used by Fitasy, the production of a single shoe becomes much more practical and cost-effective for individual production. They can produce a single shoe without the inefficiencies of traditional manufacturing processes, avoiding unused pairs, reducing excess waste and minimizing excess inventory. This approach is difficult and not viable on the standard production lines used in the industry today.
Stride 2.0 Custom Fit
The Stride 2.0 fit model is what really sets Fitasy apart from traditional shoe brands. A truly unique approach to footwear means a transition from the endangered to a shoe that’s as individual as you are.
The Fitasy Stride 2.0 is a shoe that adapts to you, not the other way around. With a foot scanning app, the seamless process captures accurate digital measurements, builds a 3D model of your feet, and turns it into 3D printed, custom-fit shoes made just for you.
The process not only means customization, but can also allow for customization in terms of additional styles, patterns or logos during the design process.
The lightweight shoe features the same responsive shock-absorbing design and seamless comfort as the Stride 1.0, only with a custom fit that’s sculpted to move effortlessly with you with every step.
The 3-layer mesh cushioning provides intelligent zoned support that adapts to every step, and with 360-degree airflow, breathability is guaranteed.
Stride 2.0 is perfect for everyday wear, pre-workout, gym and recovery, promoting rest and relaxation for the feet, joints, back and hips.

What’s next?
Fitasy’s next product will be the recovery slide. As with the Stride shoe, this promises to offer a unique product that features a reimagined design using the brand’s 3D printing technology.
With leading edge design and manufacturing, Fitasy has the potential to transform the footwear industry and the processes involved to offer a truly customized fit and design with compromises. Fitasy is the future of footwear and it’s here today.
