Niccolò Bulega is effectively doing very well for World Superbikes, but there is no clear opening for an Italian on Ducati’s MotoGP roster.

open He has won the last 16 WSBK races, setting the championship record. With a perfect 248 points on the board, he is 82 points clear of teammate Iker Lecuona.

Barring injuries, it’s good that the championship is over. Toprak Razgatlioglu moved to MotoGP as WSBK champion, however Bulega only rates the chance at 50%.

Ducati are fighting to get Niccolò Bulega off the MotoGP roster.

Buleaga scored points in substitute games following Marc Marquez’s injury in 2025 and Ducati Test team, 2027 MotoGP move seemed inevitable.

It wasn’t realistic to join the factory team right away, but Gresini and the VR46 were likely to remain in the Ducati family, leaving two other options open.

However, reports indicate Gresini don’t like Bulega.. Moto2 star Daniel Holgado is set to retire one of his seats, and meeting Enya Bastianini is his choice on the other side of the garage.

Meanwhile, VR46 has already signed Fermin AldeguerAlthough leading Ducati rider is attracting interest from elsewhere, the team seems keen to keep in-form Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Ducati has to borrow Niccolò Bulegan for the track house for 2027.

Ducati has a problem with not having a good vacancy for Bulega. They don’t want to lose him, and the choice seems to be to stay, but he needs to take the next step in his career.

Last time at the Spanish GP Bulega’s manager contacted Aprilia. About the open position at Trackhouse. Ai Ogura is unexpectedly joining Yamaha.

Taking a loan will benefit all parties. While Trackhouse may currently have the best rider outside of MotoGP, the other options on their roster (such as Alex Rins and Joan Mir) aren’t very encouraging.

Ducati will be able to satisfy Bulega’s needs while testing a full MotoGP campaign. In the year Come late 2027 or 2028, then they have the option to bring him back into the fold.

One issue is that the bosses at Aprilia may not be interested in training a Ducati rider, but the trackhouse controls their own contracts. If Luigi Daleigna decides to go in a different direction, the move could be permanent.

This would be a complex deal to pull off, but based on the report, it’s surprising that it hasn’t been explored before.
