David Tardozzi says Marc Marquez’s victory at the Czech Grand Prix was more a testament to his ‘intellect’ than his talent.
Marquez won the race in Brno From the fourth, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Ai Ogura and his team-mate Francesco Bagna went to victory.
The Spaniard missed the French and Catalan GPs after undergoing surgery on his shoulder and foot in May, but has now won back-to-back races to turn his title chances around.
David Tardozzi: Marc Marquez should not be fully fit until September
to speak TNT Sports After the race (14:06, 21/06), Tardozzi said that according to the doctors, Marquez will not be fully fit until September. While the sprain that was pressing on the radial nerve is now realigned, it takes time for the muscle to rebuild.
Going by that timeline, Marquez’s recovery will continue at the Assen, Saxonring, Silverstone and Aragon weekends.

But now in this ‘training’ phase, he is challenging the expectations of his doctors and colleagues.
Marquez said he felt ’empty’ After ‘suffering’ in the final third of the race, he still managed to hold off Ai Ogura.
“I still say, until the summer, those races will practice for Mark,” he said Tardozi.
We know for sure that he still suffers a bit with his right hand. I think we need two more months.
“The muscles in his shoulder are still not 100%. The doctors told him that at least September (before) he recovered.
“Even though he’s an arm and a half long, he’s very fast.
“I know exactly what the situation is, I know exactly what the doctors told me two weeks ago and a few days ago, to be honest, I’m very surprised, because he’s doing better than we expected and the doctors expected.
“It’s not just his ability, it’s his mentality. His body gives him certain limits, but this man’s mentality… I’ve never seen it in the 40 years I’ve been in this world.”
Earlier in the weekend, Tardozzi predicted that. Marquez will never return to his pre-2020 levels. Based on the discussion with the doctors. But if he can maintain the form he showed in Brno, he may be able to win the title regardless.
