Danilo Petrucci wants to “copy” how Toprak Razgatlioglu rides on a BMW to maximize braking power after replacing the bike.

Razgatlioglu Finally left the World Superbikes to MotoGP PramakTwo years on the factory Yamaha Contract, from 2026, created a gap in BMW, which chose to supply the German outfit Petrocchi. The Italian joined BMW after spending three years riding for Barney Sparks at Ducati.

Razgatlioglu was the only one to enjoy success on the BMW M1000RR as he secured the World Superbike title last year before joining the Pramac MotoGP team. With 21 wins from 36 races, he denied Ducati’s Nicolo Bulega the 2025 title by 13 points.

The Turkish star was the only BMW rider to reach 31 podiums, while team-mate Michael van der Mark was only 12th in the standings. Petrucci is currently 11th in the 2026 World Superbike standings, while teammate Miguel Oliveira is fourth.

In his quest to get more performance out of the BMW M1000RR, Petrucci looked back at Razgatlioglu’s data from the 2025 campaign. Razgatlioglu widely recognized braking ability One way it stood out for Petrucci was making a difference, which he now hopes to try to replicate.

Petrucci said. GPON“He’s very good at bringing all the best features of the bike together. In 2024, they had the discounts, which helped them a lot, and allowed them to build the bike. And in 2025, he said, he’s doing a great job.

Because not only does he ride hard, but he rides in a way that creates the brakes. But most importantly, he manages to turn the bike in the last part to recover as quickly as possible. So he was not just a braker, and he is obviously a good rider.

But let’s say you can get close to it, you can improve in some areas. For example, as I said in Assen, I was faster than him. And that makes me very happy. I was faster than last year, so it means we are on the right track.

Torak Razgatlioglu has fallen more in 2026 than he did last season!

“Toprak is really a great talent, because braking at the last moment and stopping the bike is not as easy as it seems, because this bike always has to be ridden at the limit.

“He’s taken that thing to an extreme, so to speak. And right now, we have to try to copy a little bit of what he’s doing, but at the same time, we have to adapt to what we have.”

Retaining parts of the riding style that helped Razgatlioglu win three World Superbike titles since moving to MotoGP has seen him adapt perfectly in the early rounds of his new career. The Turkish ace quickly proved to be a match for Jack Miller in Pramak.

Factory Yamaha MotoGP rider Fabio Quatararo praised Razgatlioglu in America As well as using the riding style he honed in the World Superbike Championship to take care of the tyres. But like Petrucci with BMW in the World Superbikes Razgatlioglu is still adapting to the Yamaha M1..
