Crawford beating BiVol would make him the best ever

Coach Stephen Edwards says he is not sure if Terence Crawford can defeat Dmitry Biblical if he went up to 175 to challenge him for his IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight titles.

Edwards mentions that with the size of the 6’0 ″ biblical (24-1, 12 COs), its movement and power, it would be a ‘reach’ for Crawford (42-0, 31 COs) to adopt the type of fighter. He notes that Biblical (34) would be a very different kind of struggle than Canelo Alvarez was for Bud because of the size, mobility and conditioning.

Why size suddenly matters

Crawford could not believe that Biblical disappeared in the struggle to win a win as against Canelo in their September 13 match in Las Vegas. So, if Terence needed to win, it would not happen against Biblical.

It is unclear why Edwards suddenly makes a big case that Crawford has a major disadvantage, as he was almost always the bigger fighter during his long 17-year-old pro career.

On 5’9 ″ with a massive 75 ″ reached, Crawford enjoyed an advantage over the fighters he fought in the 135, 140, 147, 154 and 168 pounds of weight classes. Even against Biblical, Terence would enjoy a three-inch advantage.

Biblical range is 72 inches, to Crawford’s 75 ″. As such, why does Edwards suddenly stand on his soap box to complain about how unfair it is now that Terence has a small disadvantage?

When he was the bigger and longer fighter in his 42 previous competitions, where was Edwards to complain about the injustice of those battles? Why does he suddenly cry out as Crawford for the first time in his career a little height, weight and power? Now that things are finally balancing, Stephen makes a big deal about it.

“I think we should be fair with him. If Bud can beat Bisvol, he is the best fighter in the history of boxing. I think it asks too much. I don’t know if he can fight Biblical, ”coach Stephen Edwards said IceM Sports Media When asked if he believed that Terence Crawford could defeat Dmitri Biscell at 175.

Why is it unfair for Crawford to handle a bit size for Biblical? I mean, if Crawford is such a big pound-for-pound fighter and on Mount Rushmore of boxing on the number 1 place above Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis, why should he not fight Biblical and have a chance to defeat him?

The only reason I can think is that Edwards is worried that Terence will be invented and exposed as Fool’s Gold. All the people jump off the Crawford wagon wheel like rats jumping from a sinking ship into the Atlantic.

BIVOL: Larger, stronger, sharper

“You’re talking about a boxer moving, strong, jumping in and out and conditioning. You are talking about a man who has everything that Bud has, but he is a natural 175-pound with pedigree, ‘says Edwards about Crawford who is fighting Bivol.

Can’t Crawford move and jump like Biblical? Does he not have excellent conditioning? I remember Bud around the ring like a rabbit against Canelo last month at their main liner at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and used a definition of a Tom and Jerry battle before 70.482 stone-quiet fans. Talk about boring. It was uninhabitable.

Turki’s investment questioned

I just wonder what Turki Alalshikh thought while watching Crawford turn on the kind of performance after getting a fortune in loot? He did not make his money worth paying Crawford Gazillions. Turki could have used that dough to give it to Christian Mbilli to move in the head liner slot to face Canelo to entertain the fans.

“It’s not the same as fighting Canelo. This is another struggle. I don’t know if this is possible. It’s a reach, “Stephen says, asking if it’s a step too far for Bud Crawford to stand Dmitri Biblical in a light heavyweight.
