Conor Benn goes on to call out Ryan Garcia on past losses

Conor Benn went straight for the throat in his latest call-out of Ryan Garcia, dragging up the lowest points of Garcia’s career to make his case publicly.

“Luke Campbell took on woman who hit gervumpalumpa and got beat by rolly. I’ll beat you 💯Me and them will get that WBC world title NEXT. Let’s run it,” Benn told Ryan Garcia on X.

Ryan (25-2, 20 KOs) has not definitively said if he will agree to fight Benn next. He has other options, such as the rematch with Devin Haney. Right now, this would be the more enticing fight for the fans, who are pushing to see the two fight again.

Benn is the WBC mandatory for Garcia’s welterweight title, even though he hasn’t fought at 147 since 2022. Four years without a single fight in the division, he was appointed as the mandatory. It looks so bad from the outside.

While this fulfills a WBC mandatory requirement by Garcia next defending against Benn, it is a soft obligation in the eyes of the public. It keeps the belt around its waist, but it doesn’t earn it the respect of the hardcore boxing community. We don’t even know if the WBC would choose to strip Ryan if he chose to fight someone else next.

Fans want to see if he can repeat his performance against Haney. This is the fight they have been waiting for since 2024. They don’t necessarily want to see him defeat a Benn who just last weekend worked to a decision against Regis Prograis.

If Garcia takes this fight, he also does Zuffa Boxing a massive favor. After Benn’s lackluster performance, Zuffa needs a reason to keep him on the roster at a high price point. Ryan would provide the rescue mission for Benn’s brand by agreeing to fight him.
