The PGA Tour’s Texas swing continues this week with the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth and for once, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler isn’t listed as the betting favorite for one simple reason: He’s not playing this week! Instead, Swedish star Ludvig Aberg sits at the top of the betting table.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Charles Schwab Challenge odds and other betting favorites to start the week.
Charles Schwab Challenge betting favorites
This week represents a difficult time on the PGA Tour schedule for the world’s top players. With back-to-back Signature Events leading up to the PGA Championship, many players opted to make it to last week’s match CJ Cup Byron Nelson were playing their fourth straight week and will use this week for a much-needed rest before next week’s Memorial Tournament – another one Signature event.
Conversely, those who chose to rest last week will be fresh and ready for this week. The top six players on the Charles Schwab Challenge odds list tell the story: none of them competed in last week’s tournament.
However, there is an exception when you reach number 7: Wyndham Clarke! regardless of his victory on Sunday – the fourth of his career – the 32-year-old is not the unstoppable favorite in the Colonial and instead has odds of +2500 to win. Clark, notably, did not play in the two Signature Events before the PGA, and missed the cut at Aronimink. (Update: Clark withdrew from the Charles Schwab challenge field Monday afternoon.)
This week, the tournament favorite crown belongs to the world number 13 Ludwig Abergodds of winning are +1000. It’s just behind him Russell Henley at +1800, followed by Ben Griffin, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler AND Robert MacIntyre at +2200.
