Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) suddenly emerged as one of the most dangerous teams in the world IPL 2026 playoff run after making a remarkable midseason turnaround. Written off by many after failing to win in their first six matches, KKR have now won four games in a row and rekindled their hopes of a late entry into the top four. Their last victory was opposed Delhi Capitals (DC) At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the visitors won by eight wickets.
He became the star of the evening Find Allenwhose unbeaten century in the chase of 143 completely destroyed the Delhi bowling attack. Along with Allen, Cameron Green He also played a vital supporting role with an unbeaten 33 as KKR chased down the target in just 14.2 overs. Green had a shot on goal early in the match Nitish Rana while bowling alone, further highlighted his growing all-round impact for the side.
Cameron Green opens the bowling role for KKR
After the match, Green spoke confidently about the sport of bowling and revealed that he is fully prepared to take on greater responsibility with the ball when needed. The Australian all-rounder had entered the tournament under a carefully managed workload due to a back injury concern and initially played only as a specialist batsman in KKR’s first two matches.
Now slowly getting back into full rhythm, Green revealed he feels fully prepared to play his full quota in pressure situations. He explained that KKR’s balanced bowling combination allowed the team management to shift responsibilities intelligently and avoid overburdening any one bowler.
Green praised the left-arm all-rounder Anukul Roy for his valuable contribution in the middle overs and highlighted how this flexibility helped him to bounce back with ease with his bowling. According to Green, having multiple bowling options allows him to adapt to the match situation, whether that means bowling in the powerplay or at the death.
“I’m 100% ready to play four overs. I think it’s just the make-up of our team, we have Anukul Roy who has been playing an exceptional role for us, he bowls one or two overs. It means I can only bowl two or three overs, which has been a really big help.” Green said as quoted by ANI.
The Australian also seemed comfortable discussing his auction price and the pressures surrounding his role in the squad. Despite being one of the high-profile overseas signings, Green has quietly been a key figure in KKR’s revival with his composure and versatility. In his debut season for the franchise, he has already scored 232 runs and picked up four wickets, contributing in multiple departments when the team needed stability the most.
“Having a left-arm all-rounder to potentially bat in the middle and I can go on the power play and potentially at the death or through the middle. So I think the way our team is made up, we have six guys that we can go and obviously Anukul and I play all-rounders there. So we’re just helping each other out, going over our four goals.” Green added.

KKR’s playoff hopes are on track
KKR’s dramatic revival has changed the complexion of the IPL 2026 points table significantly. Just a few weeks ago, they were rooted near the bottom and headed for extinction. However, four straight wins have lifted the reigning champions to seventh position and put them back in playoff contention.
With KKR now on their side, they know the equation is simple – keep winning and the title will remain in their control. Historically, teams with 16 points in a 10-team IPL season have comfortably secured a place in the playoffs and KKR still have enough matches to reach that target.
The emphatic win over Delhi also boosted their net run rate, which could be crucial later in the competition if more than one team finishes level on points. More importantly, the team now seems content with contributions from both older stars and younger players.
