“Okay. That’s why I’m telling you, this is the Devin Haney era. The fights that you want to see, you want to see Devin in and that’s good. But listen, Keyshawn Davis is trash, and guess what. Once we get this money. I know he’s quiet right now, but he can stand his mother up. Once this money comes right,” said he’s getting something right. Mills City Boxing.
“I’ve been trying to get someone to like that fight for a while. We wanted Turki, anyone, Ring, anyone. It doesn’t matter who. You sit like that because we know and you know about him. Trash.”
Bernie Davis agreed that a Haney-Keyshawn fight would attract attention, but argued that Keyshawn would have to receive an offer that made financial sense.
“I really want to see him fight Devin,” Bernie said. “Keyshawn is a bad guy. If you’re going to fight him, make him a fair offer.”
Bill disagreed, pointing to Haney’s history of big purses for opponents.
“Bro, since when do you tell somebody to make us a fair offer? You tryin’ to put roadblocks in the s***. How much did he just make? Come on, everybody who fights Devin gets record money,” Bill says.
Despite Bill’s criticism of Keyshawn, Bernie praised Haney’s accomplishments and experience while describing the match as one of the better fights available.
“He’s the more experienced fighter, for sure. It’s not even a question. I can’t take anything away from what he’s accomplished and his skill set,” says Bernie. “In a fight against Keyshawn, he’s going to have the experience. He’s a three-weight world champion. He’s been in with some of the best fighters in the world, and he’s done well. I just think it’s a great fight.”
