Bettinardi’s Antidote line is joining the ever-growing lineup of traditional-looking torque shooters.
The company announced two new additions to it The popular Antidote “Zero-Torque” line.: limited release Hexperimental shooters #7 and #9.
“Simply Balancedâ„¢ over the past 18 months has been our most talked about putter technology, but it has only ever been available on the center shaft,” Bettinardi Golf President Sam Bettinardi said in a release. “The Hexperimental #7 and #9 open it up to more players, with the same zero-torque advantage, in a design they’re more familiar with looking down.”
The #7 is a medium compact knife, while the #9 is a wide body blade with a high toe. Both models were teased with prototype versions on the PGA Tour, debuting at the Cognizant Classic.

What’s really new with Bettinardi Hexperimental Antidote – and why you should care
Bettinardi was one of the first legacy manufacturers to enter the US low-torque market behind the LAB Golf with its Antidote SB1 and SB2 again in the fall of 2024and since then two more models have joined the family. But all are placed in the center.
With the new Hexperimentale machines, Bettinardi offers perhaps one of the most traditional looking barrels for a low torque shooter using a long neck design.
Instead of moving in front of the neck, as in a traditional plumber’s neck, the shaft enters the middle of the neck on the Herperimentals and then pivots through the digger’s center of gravity.

Like the rest of the Antidote line, the Hexperimental inserts will feature the company’s FIT face, which removes 30 percent of the face material for a soft, responsive feel on impact.
Hexperimental Antidote Bettinardi Formation
In a departure from the rest of the Antidote lineup, both Hexperimental Antidote sets are finished with TPT Black Armor on the upper and flange and feature distressed blue accents on the face and heel.

What is it: A compact mid-hammer shape with a rear window designed to push mass to the perimeter and increase stability. A unique long neck design gives the toe lift properties to stay square when hitting the putt.
Who is it for: Players who have resisted low-torque shots due to center-shaft designs and want the extension and forgiveness benefits of a hammer.

What is it: A traditional wide body high point blade with squared corners and asymmetrical shape. A unique long neck design gives the toe lift properties to stay square when hitting the putt.
Who is it for: Players who want the more traditional look in a low torque gauge.
My take: Low torque shooters are evolving
A year ago, no barrel from a major OEM offered you a low-torque shaft design, but everything changed quickly.
In what appears to be the next frontier of low-torque gauges, everyone seems to be rushing to debut an option that appeals to those who have so far avoided the category.
Bettinardi is a brand that prioritizes look and feel, something that’s often overlooked in other low-torque offerings, and that’s clearly evident here. From an appearance standpoint, these can instantly become some of the most visually appealing low-torque machines from any angle.
Low-torque pitch is often disruptive, but I wouldn’t be shocked to find people finding these experimental gauges, by revving them, then realizing they are low torque.
I’m interested in getting my hands on one of these, especially the #9, as I’ve recently stopped using a low torque machine, but with a more traditional release, could these appeal to me? They certainly look the part.
