Marc Marquez has spoken candidly about the ‘last years’ after putting pen to paper on his new Ducati contract.
This week it was finally confirmed Marquez has signed a new contract with DucatiThis will keep him with the team until the end of the 2028 season.
The 33-year-old Spaniard, a seven-time MotoGP world champion, is still one of the best riders on the grid despite a string of injuries.

Marc Marquez says he wants to ‘enjoy’ the ‘final years’ of his career.
Speaking on Thursday, Marquez was asked about his new contract and revealed his ‘biggest goal’ for the rest of his career.
The Spaniard is quick to say that he wants to ‘enjoy’ the ‘last years’ of his amazing life.
He went on to say that most athletes end up ‘hating their sport’, which Marquez said should be avoided.
Marquez also hinted that he doesn’t know if this will be his ‘last contract’, hence why he’d rather enjoy every minute than suffer. He promises to give 100 percent and be competitive.
As reported Speed weekMarquez said: “My most ambitious goal is to enjoy my passion in the last years of my career.
There are athletes who hate their sport when their career is over, because often you are fighting injuries, pressure or poor results. I want to have fun in the last years – this is the main goal.

Asked further about his new contract and other offers, Marquez said he had ‘not heard of any other offers’.
The 33-year-old has reportedly put contract talks on hold following his recent injury woes.
However, as time went on, Marquez realized that he had to have ‘faith’ in himself and finally believe that he would reach a level of ‘acceptability’.
Looking ahead, Marquez is set to ride alongside Pedro Acosta.The young Spaniard left KTM for Ducati ahead of the 2027 campaign.
Meanwhile, Marquez’s current Ducati team-mate Francesco Bagnaia, whose departure was confirmed, signed for Aprilia on Wednesday.
Bezcicci’s current Aprilia team-mate Jorge Martin is widely expected to join Yamaha before the start of the 2027 MotoGP season.
