There has always been talk of Arsenal’s Ben White not watching football and now the Englishman has explained why.
The watching public presumes that all footballers are obsessed with the sport and consume it in some way every day of their lives, but this is not the case, with many players playing the game simply because they are good at it.
One of them is Arsenal star Ben White, who has previously claimed in interviews that he doesn’t watch games outside of his job with the Gunners.
This fact gained even more attention as it was attributed to his reasoning for not wanting to play in England.
The defender withdrew from the English selection during the 2022 World Cup for personal reasons and was informed which was a consequence of a mess with Gareth Southgate’s assistant manager Steve Hollandwho called out the 27-year-old for his lack of interest in the game.
That hasn’t stopped the Arsenal star from being a top-flight player and now he’s opened up about why he doesn’t watch football and his reasons make sense.
Arsenal star Ben White explains why he’s not a fan of watching football
In an interview with former England and Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster, White has now clarified his lack of interest in watching football and clarified his earlier statements.
“No, of course not,” White replied when Foster asked if he hates football Amazon Prime Video interview “It was a huge thing, there were some things I said. Obviously, I don’t look at him.
“For me, it’s not a big deal. That’s why I said it at the time. The training, the amount of videos you have to do every day, it’s so extreme, so when I get home I just want to forget about it.
“People think I don’t love it and obviously I don’t see it, but I could probably tell you most things about all the ends I play against or the attributes I’m going to have to deal with. the head of week.”
It’s understandable that White wants to do other things when he’s not working at Arsenal and the fans shouldn’t have a problem with that, as long as the defender is at the best of his abilities every time he steps on a football pitch.
