Before Bezecchi’s measure in FP2, Gresini confirmed that Fermin Aldeguer has been declared ineligible. to take part in the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend following his disastrous crash in pre-qualifying practice earlier on Friday afternoon.

Franco Morbidelli was slapped with a three-place grid penalty in practice after being found guilty of riding too slow on the racing line and obstructing the efforts of Tech3’s Innea Bastianini. After finishing in P13, he will start Sunday’s Grand Prix from P16.

George Martin claimed pole position ahead of Ai Ogura at the Dutch Grand Prix.

As the under 10 in practice took to the Ascent TT circuit for Q1, Joan Mir and Diogo Moreira were the first two riders to put their names on the hat for a Q2 appearance.

After last year’s pole-sitter Fabio Quatararo snatched the top spot, Moreira pushed beyond the limit and crashed out on lap seven as he tried to force himself back into contention. With two minutes left on the clock, the qualifying event was successfully completed.

The Frenchman remained in top position as the checkered flag flew to end Q1. Mir followed the Quatararo into Q2 after the Yamaha rider’s lap time came in half-tenths off.

Bezecchi took the lead in the second shootout after a flying first lap, showing his ambition to break Francesco Bagna’s 2024 Asean lap record. Raul Fernandez put himself into P2 ahead of Jorge Martin to set up a provisional Aprilia front row.

Marc Marquez struggled in the opening laps, with both of the first two laps of the session ending over track limits and was wiped off the timesheet by the stewards. Amid Marquez’s woes, Jorge Martin has usurped the top spot from his team-mate.

Ai Ogura moved himself into P2 following Martin’s benchmark, with championship leader Bezeci completing the front row. Fernandez will lead the second row alongside Bagnaia and Fabio Di Giantonio.
