New Zealand’s dominance over India in the Bengaluru Test
The second day of the Test match was a day to forget for India. After Rohit won the toss and elected to bat, India were bowled out for a paltry 46, their lowest Test score at home. In reply, the New Zealand batsmen dominated the Indian bowling attack, reaching a total of 402. Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra played decisive shots Tim Southee also made valuable half-century contributions.
With India trailing by a significant margin, their chances of avoiding defeat to New Zealand were slim. To stay in the competition, the team needed a strong performance from the batting line-up. However, Rohit’s dismissal has been a major setback for India and they face the prospect of a first home defeat against New Zealand since 1988.
