The latest setback continues a frustrating injury trend in Burger’s career. The Texas Super Kings signed the South African all-rounder to replace Burger Diane Forrester. The 25-year-old has represented the Johannesburg Super Kings in the SA20 and recently made his debut for the South African national team. Forrester also gained valuable franchising experience this year, which includes both Pakistan Super League and IPL 2026 after joining Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as a substitute player.
Burger’s impressive IPL 2026 campaign
Despite recurring fitness issues, Burger enjoyed a productive IPL 2026 season Rajasthan Royals (RR). The left-arm quick has emerged as one of the franchise’s most reliable pace options and has been instrumental throughout the tournament. Burger played 13 matches during the season and took 14 wickets at an average of 31.42.
