Srixon unveiled its new ZXi RKT Connection of drivers in Travelers Championship.
No tech information has been released yet, and when I asked for comments on the new lineup, I got an amused “no comment … yet” response from the team.
However, it’s my job to know how to draw conclusions about devices from photos alone, so let’s dive in.
Here are 3 things we know or can safely assume from the photos.
1) Three models in the new family
Srixon has photos of the three models in the new ZXi RKT family. The LS looks to be a nice compact pear shape that players love with two front-to-back adjustable weights for launch and spin control.
The ZXi RKT (core) has two weights this time around for heel-to-toe CG movement and would likely be the most responsive model in the lineup, which is a trend we’re starting to see from more and more OEMs. Interestingly, however, they do not have a rear weight on this model. They can use the “chassis” as a fixed weight in the rear that allows for an MOI number they can track, which then stays consistent regardless of weight movement from the toe and heel positions. We’ll have to keep an eye out for info on that!
The ZXi RKT MAX only has one weight gate in the rear, which would lead me to think it’s built for stability and ease of launch. This is a fairly standard three-model lineup, but there are some significant changes compared to Srixon’s last generation of drivers.
2) There is only so much they can do with so much carbon fiber
;)

Compared to the last generation product, there is a significant increase in carbon fibers. Combined with each model taking on a nice new “player” shape, this allows them to improve their adjustable weight. You’ll notice that the weights themselves have been pushed further to the ends of each model, which allows for large CG changes and more stability regardless of the final weight setting. Getting carbon fiber in the sole allows that weight to be moved to the edges for a higher overall MOI value.
Does carbon fiber unlock more stability? Big. Carbon fiber unlock stability and what looks to be the best Srixon driver shape ever? Phenomenal.
3) They are addressing the big complaint
;)
Srixon Golf
It’s safe to say that the only universal complaint or criticism about it Srixon ZXi driver lineup it was the voice. Most of the guys on the tour are burning their heads to address this, but the retail consumer doesn’t get that benefit. The ZXi stuff was a bit louder than I think most people would like, and it felt a bit strong from the face, thanks to that louder, harsher noise. It wasn’t quite a Nike Sumo, but compared to the increase in carbon fiber and a general dampening of noise from other OEMs, it really stood out.
If you look closely at the pictures, there is a marking on the sole that says “Acousticore”. One can only assume and hope that this means they specifically targeted the sound and feel of these drivers and that they passed player testing with flying colors.
4) (BONUS) They’re still going strong for their guys on Tour.

We have also found four other models from Srixon on the conforming list. These line up with similarly named models in the past that were created specifically for certain tournament players. Hideki Matsuyama and Shane usually get something with a little tournament dressing, and I’d be shocked if one of these wasn’t for Ryan Fox or Sepp Straka. Maybe something here is trying to get a Srixon driver in the bag for JJ Spaun as well.
That ZXi RKT LS+ sure looks fun.
