Fourth round duration: What we know
The US Open competitors are almost ready to start the final round at Shinnecock. But before they do, the third round should end on Saturday.
All players must complete the third round before the Sunday match schedules for the 2026 US Open are determined. Once Round 3 is completed on Sunday night, players will be reshuffled into new pairings based on leaderboard position, with the leaders occupying the final pairing and starting late Sunday afternoon. The players in bottom of the leaderboard after the cut will tee off first Sunday morning.
We can look at last year to get a better idea of ​​what this year’s start periods will be. On Sunday at the 2025 US Open, Adam Scott and Sam Burns faded away in the final pairing at 2:15 PM ET. Cam Davis opened the game Sunday at 7:52 a.m. ET.
You can expect the 2026 US Open Sunday meeting times to fall in a similar window between 7:45am ET and 2:30pm ET.
