If Seattle’s hitting screen was effective, the Texas Super Kings had a bigger response. Captain Du Plessis led from the front with sensational innings that completely changed the course of the match. The chase started flying like Du Plessis and the like Riley Rossouw attacked with a ball. Rossouw played a crucial supporting role, smashing 49 off just 21 deliveries before reaching his agonizing half-century.
Du Plessis continued his attack throughout the innings. The former South African captain reached his fifty off just 24 balls and then shifted gears again to bring up a stunning century off just 45 deliveries. with their valuable support Soft Kumar and Wian Mulder in the latter stages, Du Plessis ensured there were no late hiccups. He finished with an unbeaten 113 off just 52 balls to take Texas Super Kings to 224/4 in 18.3 overs and complete one of the biggest runs seen in the tournament.
The win not only gave Texas a perfect start to their MLC 2026 campaign, but also cemented Du Plessis’ reputation as one of the best T20 batsmen of his generation. His match-winning strike earned him the Player of the Match award and left fans on social media in awe.
