Massimo Rivola should have kept his criticism of George Martin’s ride private at the Hungarian Grand Prix, says Ricard Jove.
Martin received a lengthy penalty. For the Czech GP after being found guilty of a first corner incident involving teammate Marco Bezecic, Trackhouse’s Raul Fernández and Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguerre.

Writing on XFormer rider manager, talent scout and team boss Jove Martin admitted he was ‘100%’ at fault after losing control of his bike.
Martin was furious after Fernandez collided with him in the Catalan GP last month, even pushing Aprilia team manager Paolo Bonora into the garage. No penalties were issued for that incident.
Jove says Martin now needs to realize he needs to be ‘more gentle’ with other riders.
However, Rivola also feels he went too far with his comments. He disagrees with the Italian verdict and, more importantly, with his decision to broadcast it publicly.

Jove wrote: “I can clearly see that Martin had a front-end lock that threw him off balance and caused him to lose control of the braking. “Up to this point, everything is clear, and fortunately, without serious injuries.
“As I’ve already said in another post, Martin’s lesson today, when it comes to other people’s mistakes, you have to be more lenient because of it all…’It’s a ‘today for you, tomorrow for me’ thing.
“But while that action was punishable, I must say, it seemed to me no act of madness or recklessness, but rather a simple error, which in this case had many consequences.
“And I say this because it’s easy for many fans to pile on the fallen tree, but the biggest disappointment for me today is that Massimo Rivola made such a mistake, seeing it as a sad statement that the world champion would not be accepted.
“I disagree and vehemently, because being champion doesn’t exempt you from making mistakes at the limits. Although of course it’s 100% Martin’s responsibility, here you can say that Rivola didn’t race motorcycles, and I see this as a public vendetta to Jorge for what happened in Barcelona.”

Martin leaves Aprilia To join Yamaha at the end of the season – an open secret move. Rivola is adamant that he will treat the riders equally in this year’s title race, despite Marco Bezecchi’s promise of a new contract.
Martin Bonora apologized for pushing him, saying the offense only lasted a few minutes.
