STOCKHOLM (SWE, June 7). The highlight of the Bauhaus Gala The women’s 800m race was as expected, but the main player was different. 800 m – What a debut! Cooper Lutkenhaus, 17, beats Marco Arop for his first ever Diamond League win 1:42.70 – 1:43.11. The top six broke the 1:44 barrier.
1500 m – Jared Nugus runs over Cam Myers for the win, 3:30.11 to 3:30.32. Jimmy Grecier (3:34.53) and Andreas Almgren (3:36.81) rounded out the field in 12th and 14th, respectively.
400m steeplechase (non-DL) – Alison dos Santos won in 47.11 and takes a 1-2 lead over Brazil’s Mateus Lima, who ran a massive PB, improving from 48.08 to 47.37. Also, Germany’s Emil Agyekum’s PB is third with 47.72.
3000m running – Sufian El Bakkali won comfortably in 8:10.40 ahead of Kenyans Edmund Serem (8:12.27) and Abraham Kibiwot (8:12.75). World champion Geordie Beamish was fourth in 8:13.11. WR holder Lamecha Girma was a DNF.
Discussion – Only one valid throw from Daniel Staal, but his 69.60m beat Matt Denny (69.02m) and Christian Cech (67.67m).
Pole vault – Big upset Armand Duplantis Losing for the first time since July 2023. Curtis Marshall He cleared 5.90m in his third attempt to beat Duplantis, who had only cleared 5.80m before two misses at 6.00m and another at 6.05m. The winner also tried twice at 605.

100 m – Three-time world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden returned to winning form with a 10.84 (+0.8) ahead of Amy Hunt, who broke the 11-second barrier for the first time with a PB of 10.97.

National records for both.
800 m (non-DL) – The young Spanish Marta Mitjans beat the Norwegian Malin Ingeborg Niefors (2:02.39) by almost two seconds with a score of 2:00.63.
1500 m (non-DL) – With a blazing first 800m of 2:04.77, Ethiopia’s Birke Hailom slowed but still won in 4:00.68 by more than a second over Lucia Stafford (4:01.93) and Erin Wallace (4:02.87).
3000m running – First-time Diamond League win for Marva Buzayani, who set a meet record of 8:59.28, her third sub-9:00 of the year. Elise Turner was second in 9:11.01. Ilona Mononen was sixth in another Finnish record of 9:15.18.
Long jump – First win in Diamond League history for France’s Hilary Kpatcha (6.85, +2.4, legal 657) ahead of Italy’s Larissa Iappichino (6.84, +2.1, legal 678) and Jamaica’s Nia Robinson (6.80, +2.4, legal 678). Olly winner Mihambo 6th 670 (+1.8). 7 m jumper A. Brown 9th 662 (+1.6).
Shooting – Another huge throw for Jessica Schilder who threw 20.89m to beat Valarie Adams’ 15 year old meet record of 20.57m. Chase Jackson (19.91m) and Sarah Mitton (19.89m) finished second and third.
Discussion – World champion Valarie Sion’s 68.60m victory over world silver medalist Jorind van Klinken (66.57m). He missed the meeting record by only 17 cm.
