The 28-year-old football player wrote heartfelt words on his Instagram page that quickly caught the attention of his fans. Sarfaraz recalled his time with Chennai and revealed that wearing the iconic yellow jersey meant a lot to him.

“It’s been the best two months. My heart will be yellow. Thank you so much @chennaiipl thank you csk fans,” Sarfaraz wrote on Instagram.

Sarfaraz shows flashes of brilliance despite limited opportunities

While IPL 2026 did not turn out to be a memorable campaign for either Sarfaraz or Chennai Super Kings, the middle-order still managed to entertain the fans with his aggressive style of play. He played eight matches during the season and scored 161 runs at an impressive strike rate of 169.47.

One of the highlights of his campaign was a struggling half-century which showcased his ability to change pace quickly in the middle overs. In addition to his batting contributions, Sarfaraz has also shown energy and commitment in the field, winning praise from supporters for his attitude during tough times.

The Mumbai batsman had entered the season hoping to revive his T20 reputation after his consistent performances in domestic cricket. Despite limited opportunities in the struggling CSK squad, he still managed to make a positive impression with his fearless approach.

CSK has been struggling throughout the season

CSK finished the league stage with six wins and eight losses in 14 matches. Despite some brilliant individual performances, the franchise has never been able to generate enough momentum to consistently stay in the playoff race.
