The undefeated former welterweight champion moves up in weight after amassing a 35-0 record with 31 knockouts at 147 pounds. A win over Zayas would make Ennis a unified champion in a second division.
Ennis did not name specific individuals in his post, but much of the online discussion surrounding him recently has centered around comparisons to Terence Crawford and debate over whether the two should have fought earlier in their careers.
Crawford discussion continues
Fans responding to Ennis’ post quickly shifted the discussion back to the retired 38-year-old Crawford, with some encouraging Ennis to continue that fight after facing Zayas.
Crawford previously dismissed comparisons between himself and Ennis while responding to praise directed at the Philadelphia fighter.
Despite the outside chatter, Ennis made it clear that his focus remains on June 27 and the chance to immediately become a unified titleholder at 154 pounds.

The bout with Zayas represents the biggest fight yet for Ennis since leaving the welterweight division and moving to bigger fights at junior middleweight.
The fight also has huge implications for the future of the junior middleweight division as Ennis would instantly become one of the biggest names at 154 pounds with a win over Zayas.
A win would likely increase the pressure for future fights where Crawford and other top names are already competing in the division or planning moves there.
For now, Ennis says his focus remains fully on Zayas and the chance to leave Brooklyn with unified belts in a second division.
