MotoGP fans have come to an agreement after confirming that Marc Marquez will need surgery for his Le Mans injury

MotoGP fans are calling for Ducati’s Marc Marquez to sit out the rest of 2026 after confirming he will need surgery after breaking his leg in the Le Mans Sprint.

Another fan said: “Get well soon Mark! This season is just preparation for him, hopefully he’ll be back strong enough to cruise until next year and see how he goes with his new rigs.”

One MotoGP fan suggested Marquez should consider sitting out the rest of the 2026 season to allow his shoulder and leg to fully recover. They said, “How could he end up turning his head to the ground, which is the lesser of two evils.”

“Fracture of the fifth metatarsal is very common, full recovery is six to 12 months, although it can be difficult, it is the best result he could have. I hope he will take a break, maybe he will be fully fit this season and not just two GPs.
