More from the MotoGP press release:

On the song, Guevara took the Moto2 pole for the first time. With Holgado and Salah on the front row at Le Mans, the Spaniard will switch his practice pace to P1 on Saturday afternoon.

A 1:33.910, a new Moto2 all-time lap record at Le Mans, was enough to see Izan Guevara (BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2) claim first pole position in the class. The margin to P2 was tight, exactly 0.086s, Daniel Holgado (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) started from P2, and as Friday started the weekend with technical issues and the nightmare of a big crash, Philipp Salach (American Fans Only Fans Team) took the first row of the season in P3.

Heading the second row of the grid will be Barry Balthus (REDS Fantic Racing), but the Belgian – who had good pace all weekend – suffered a crash at Turn 6 in Q2, which saw him head to the medical center for a check-up. A late move from Manuel Gonzalez (Leaky Molly Dynavolt Intact GP) took the championship lead from 10th to P5, while Joe Roberts (American Supporters American Racing Team) had his best qualifying result of the year in P6.

Despite his injury woes this weekend, David Alonso (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) came through Q1 to secure P7, with back-to-back Moto2 winner Senna Agius (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) forced to settle for P11 – even though the second-placed rider in the standings was 0.283s off pole position.
