Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could reportedly be heading for one of the richest fights in boxing history, with veteran analyst Adam Smith believing both heavyweights could receive around $100 million each for the highly anticipated showdown.

Momentum around the fight has picked up again following confirmation that Joshua is expected to return against Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25 before moving towards a Fury clash later in the year.
Smith sounded convinced the fight was finally on its way to reality after years of failed negotiations, delays and public frustration from boxing fans.
“I think the two of them will share a ring. I think it will stop traffic. I think for the casual fans out there, this is probably the biggest fight ever on our shores,” said Adam Smith. talkSport Boxing about Joshua and Fury.
“Sure, they get, your guess would be 50 each. More, more. I would have thought 100 million each. 100 million, you know. I mean, whatever. It’s multi-millions.
“I heard it’s a one-fight deal, but of course it could be a rematch. We’ve seen a trilogy with Fury and Deontay Wilder. We’ve seen two with AJ and Ruiz and Usyk. They can always go again,” Smith said.
The financial figures being discussed highlight just how big the fight has become, even though both men have encountered difficult recent stretches in their careers. Fury has lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk, while Joshua was stopped by Daniel Dubois in his last outing.
Smith believes both heavyweights are now at similar stages professionally, which could make the timing right for the fight to finally happen.
Joshua recently joined Usyk’s training environment in Spain as he rebuilds physically and mentally after personal tragedy in Nigeria and the Dubois defeat. Fury, meanwhile, remained one of boxing’s biggest commercial draws despite the losses to Usyk.
The fight has not yet been officially announced, but Fury’s associate Spencer Brown recently indicated that Wembley Stadium is the expected destination. Saudi Arabia also continues to loom large over the negotiations after funding several of boxing’s biggest recent events.
Even after years of delays, the possibility of Joshua and Fury finally sharing the ring still carries huge interest in Britain, where the bout has remained unfinished business for much of the past decade.
