Marquez is fifth in the riders’ standings entering the French GP weekend, and he’s not even a Ducati rider, tied for third with VR46 rival Fabio Di Giannantonio on 71 points. The Italian has scored two Grand Prix podiums this season, P3 in Brazil and Jerez.
So far this season, no rider has been more consistent in the Sprint Races than Marquez, who has taken the Sprint podium in three of the four races – including two wins. He also saw Ducati Pedro Acosta wins the Buriram Sprint after Marquez’s penalty A round in Thailand.
