Marco Bezecchi had to settle for second place at the Spanish Grand Prix after Alex Marquez took a big win in Jerez.

Marco Bezecchi knew Alex Marquez would ‘definitely’ win at the start of the Spanish Grand Prix.

to speak TNT Sports After the Spanish Grand Prix, Marco Bezecchi was asked about his thoughts on the race and Alex Marquez’s performance.

“I’ve been very happy and happy since the day. It wasn’t easy to have a good race, especially with Alex having such strength. And even immediately, I saw that he was much faster than I expected.

“It was the best I could have done. I felt good, but not the best. I’m happy to take this second place…

“He was very fast, especially in the fast-flowing section, sector three, sector four. But overall he was on point everywhere.

“I saw straight away, he passed me in turn 10, and I said, ‘Of course he’s going to win’. In fact, he passed Mark recently, Mark made a mistake, and I was behind him, not too close, but I could see him. He was riding perfectly. I tried to stay with him, but it wasn’t possible.”

Marco Bezecchi is ‘looking forward’ to testing the 2027 Aprilia bike

Speaking further in the interview, Bezecchi pointed out that the factory is working hard to prepare the bike, and Apria looked ahead to testing their 2027 850cc bike at Jerez.

“We have a lot of stuff to test. The factory is working really hard. Their effort is amazing. We have a lot to do. I’m really looking forward to riding tomorrow.”

Massimo Rivola has previously spoken. Apria is in no rush to test the bike. Compared to other competitors, many of them had their bikes to follow earlier.

For Bezcicci, the test in Jerez will allow him to understand what improvements he needs to make, as he is officially riding next year as the defending MotoGP champion.
