Three Men World lead in Tom Jones, also Anthony 9.91 and Lyles 19.91
GAINESVILLE (USA, April 17-18). Three World leads the Tom Jones Memorial Men’s Program (WACT Challenger). First world lead for Trevor Bassitt 47.82 400m hurdles, 5th fastest ever before May. In the other race, a big PB for Ja’Qualon Scott, 48.22.

And two other World leaders in relays. Gainesville Elite (Anthony, Bromell, Odey-Jordan/GBR, N.Lyles) scored 37.78 over USA Red National Team WL 37.86 (Lindsey, Bednarek, K. King, M. Thomas) and third USA White (Coleman, Baker, T. Taylor, Austin 973). Pure Athletics WL 4×400m 2:57.33 (Ch.Robinson, Richards/TTO, Dean, McRae) over Gainesville Elite 2:58.50 (including Michael Norman in his first race since the Paris Olympics, Matthew Hudson-Smith). World indoor champion Jordan Anthony set his best in the 100m with an easy 9.91 (+0.5).

Behind him Courtney Lindsey 10.02 in another wind legal race, Nigerian U20 record, John Caleb 10.00 PB (+2.0) Adekalu Fakorede 10.04 PB. Windy times 9.94 (+3.3) by British talent Jake Odei-Jordan and 9.90 (+2.9) Nigeria’s Kanyinsola Ajayi. World champion Noah Lyles was best in the 200m with a 19.91 (+1.6) to Max Thomas’ PB of 19.98. U20 Tate Taylor won her race in 20.05 (+0.7), a US high school record and PB, also the 7th best U20 ever. Ivory Coast record holder Cheikan Traore clocked 20.14 (+1.0) in his race, while another U20 Brit Jake O’Day-Jordan won his 200m PB in 20.33 (+0.5) and 5th best in European U20 history behind Trayvon Brommel in 20.52.

Huge PB for Nigeria’s Israel Okon 20.27 (+1.6) in another race. World indoor champion Christopher Morales-Williams of Canada clocked 44.30 WL to win the 400m hurdles ahead of Alison dos Santos of Brazil, 44.38 PB (he also had a big 200m PB of 20.39 the day before). Other 400m races include Josiah Rice 44.72 PB, Devan Crompton 44.93 PB and France’s Samuel Vessat 44.94 PB (third all-time French). World finalist Jacoby Tharp went 13.09 (+0.7) in the obstacle course. In the invitational race, Bradley Franklin ran 13.07 (+2.7, but legal; 13.24 PB in heats). Orlando Bennett of Jamaica won the Olympic Development race in 13.33 (+0.8). Kenya’s Peter Narumbi improved to 1:45.05 in the 800m, beating Great Britain’s Harry Ross-Hughes with a 1:45.62 PB. Jeremiah Davis and Nigeria’s Charles Godfred are 808 legit along with Jordan Turner. Zimbabwe’s Theo Mudzengerere improved to 16.83 (+1.6) in the triple and Nigeria’s Chincherem Nnamdi improved his own NR to 84.68 in the javelin.
