The coach is confident that their familiarity with the MI groove and a few high-intensity practice games over the past week have prepared them to break the season’s opening curse.

Jayawardene’s shocking philosophy on MI’s sixth title

It’s about that, it’s bigger than that – yes, the IPL trophy is big – but how we go about things is bigger for us. As long as we have a culture, a winning culture, and we do that, I know we’ll have enough trophies to celebrate it.” explained Jayawardene. The focus for the MI think tank remains on maintaining a winning culture rather than going into drought. He suggested that the identity of the team and how they execute their brand of cricket is bigger than the trophy itself.
