Most people don’t think of golf when they hear the word “tripod.” If you’re anything like me, you think about family photos, hunting, or the workplace. Golf is an afterthought.
I will give you three strong reasons why every golfer should have a tripod in their bag: they are affordable, easy to use and relatively compact (depending on the model).
If you decide not to add a tripod to your bag after reading this part, that’s your choice. but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
This is the most obvious reason to buy a tripod if you play golf. You can go to the range, pull out the tripod, set up your phone and record your actions with each club.
Doing so will lead to discoveries that will make you a better golfer. Here are some things you might notice:
– Stretching and pointing your legs
– Head movement
– Ball trajectory
– Shot form
Additionally, there are many apps that provide critiques of your movement using some sort of AI model. I won’t say if those apps are accurate, but using a tripod will provide better film for the apps to analyze.
This does not apply to everyone. In fact, you can skip this section if that’s not your vibe.
Shooting golf content can be fun. Even if you don’t plan to post the content anywhere, you capture memories that will last a lifetime. Just the other day, I put out a vlog of a golf trip with my cousin. I was filled with nostalgia and grateful to have captured the journey on camera.
Having a tripod for movie golf content is absolute must.

You never know when it will happen. If you have an easy-to-use tripod that’s ready to go, make sure every golfer in your group is covered so you have more than a story, but a video to tell.
Some of my favorite videos online are hole-in-one videos with emotional reactions from players in the group. There is something exciting but also tender and heartwarming about watching people you love fulfill a life purpose.
