Eddie Hearn has invited Curmel Moton’s team to make an offer for a fight with Giorgio Visioli, moving early discussions to a concrete next step.
The proposed bout is being considered for the undercard of a planned Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao rematch in September. Hearn’s position puts the decision on Moton’s side, with terms now needed to move talks forward.
Visioli (11-0, 6 KOs) is coming off a one-sided win over Levi Giles in his first English lightweight title defense on Saturday night at the Copper Box Arena in London. The 22-year-old southpaw has been steadily built through domestic competition and remains one of Matchroom’s rising prospects at 135 pounds.
Promoted in Floyd Mayweather’s stable, Moton is positioned as a fast-moving prospect with increasing visibility in the US market. A fight between the two would pit an undefeated British titleholder against a developing American prospect, with both at similar stages of their careers.
Mayweather cautiously moved Moton as a long-term project, and his stable has yet to produce a successor to Gervonta Davis since his departure. The approval of a fight with Visioli would represent a significant step in that process.
The link between the fighters goes back to their time spent at the Mayweather Gym, where sparring sessions drew attention and added context to a potential matchup.
Hearn’s instruction for an offer shifts the situation from discussion to terms. Whether an agreement is reached will depend on Moton’s team and their willingness to continue the fight at this stage.
If the fight is made, it will give Visioli a higher level of opposition and a bigger platform on a big card. It will also give a clearer read on how it performs against an opponent developed on a similar track in a different market.
