I think it’s fair to say that, so far, most of Sun Day Red’s clothing releases haven’t been inspired. Look, I’m one of the biggest Tiger fans out there and I’ll root for him no matter what, but outside of some polo materials, from a design perspective, I find the Sun Day Red to be extremely underwhelming. With the fall of the new Standard collection of coralsmy opinion has changed.
of Standard Coral Collection The color scheme is straight out of Miami Vice and takes Sun Day Red in a really bold and stylish direction that we really haven’t seen it go since launching in 2024. This is a bold new direction and I’m very excited to see what comes next.
What’s old is new again
In what can only be described as the flagship of the Standard Coral Collection, Legacy Stripe Polo comes straight from the archives, inspired by a 1990 polo worn by a very young Tiger Woods. This polo shirt is 100 percent pure certified. I just wish they would release the matching gray shorts.
The Legacy Stripe Polo comes in two colors – space blue and space white – and it’s hard to say which one looks better. However, it gets even better. In another move of absolute power, Tiger and the good folks at SDR decided to drop the match Inherited headgear. I really wasn’t ready for (or expected) this amount of heat coming from Sun Day Red, but I’m more than happy about it. This collection is not just a buffet –IT IS buffet.
What to get
From a color and design perspective, almost everything from the Standard Coral Collection is top notch. If you’re looking for some advice on what to buy, I’m a big fan of Polo Legacy Stripe, Inherited headgear, Icon Rope 5 panel snapback hat AND Contrast Windbreaker Polo— the navy collar paired with the brown bed sheet look incredible together. As with most Sun Day Red launches, there is also blouse AND hoodalso.
If Sun Day Red continues to move in this direction, I’m very excited to see what happens next.
