Smriti Mandhana reveals no steady No.3, claims India’s performance better than last T20 WC

Vice-captain of the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team Smriti Mandhana He spoke about the team’s campaign so far in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. He admitted that they did not play a good brand of cricket and claimed that they were better than how they played in the tournament.

The Indian Women’s National Cricket Team is having a tough campaign so far in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. They got off to a strange start to the tournament as they were thrashed by the New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team in their first game at the Dubai International Cricket. Stadium in Dubai.

The Indian Women’s National Cricket Team was blown away by the Kiwis as they lost the game by a margin of 58 runs. They got all out for 102 runs behind 160 runs. But, after that, they bounced back as they hit Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team to get their campaign back on track.

But the game against Pakistan did not go as I wanted. They fought with them again, but managed to win the game with a difference of 6 goals. They must now win their remaining games by a wide margin if they are to rate their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the tournament.

Smriti Mandhana, who has failed in two games, was asked to clarify who will bat in the team’s No.3. But he noted that the conditions are very different from what he expected and so it will depend on the conditions and the match situation as to who bats at 3. Speaking to journalists, he explained:

“When we came here, the situation of the goal and the ground conditions are very different from what we thought. It just depends on the situation of the match, who we are playing, how the goal plays and also what score we are watching. I think that is a big idea, I wouldn’t say that everything was planned.”

“With the exception of the New Zealand match, we haven’t seen any team go past 140 in the whole tournament – whether it’s a day game or a night game – 135-140. That says a lot about the conditions. I wouldn’t say. In terms of wickets or conditions, especially on the pitch, a lot changes. Yes, more heat.” Smriti said to Mandhana.

Head coach Amol Muzumdar confirmed this before the tournament Harmanpreet Kaur He will bat at 3. Skipper batted in that position in the first game, but that was it Jemima Rodrigues He batted at 3 against Pakistan.

We will not hesitate to shoulder this responsibility – Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana admitted that the first game against New Zealand did not go their way, but they will not hesitate to take responsibility. He said they did everything but had a bad day because they couldn’t cross the line. He added:

“I’m sure the first match didn’t go as planned. But having said that, we won’t hesitate to take responsibility for not stepping up to play good cricket that day.”

“As a batting order, as a bowling unit, I think we just didn’t do it. We had a bad day for once where sometimes you just want to come and do everything but you can’t get over the line.

I am sure we are still better than we played – Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana admitted that they did not play their best cricket in the first two games but they are confident. He added that they have to play smart cricket in UAE conditions. He added:

“But yeah, I think the brand of cricket we wanted to play, I’d say we didn’t do it in the first match. I wouldn’t even say we played 100 per cent of our cricket in the second match. I’m sure we’re still better than what we played.

“In these conditions you have to understand your cricket very well, you have to be very smart and know what shots to play and what shots to play. So I don’t see any difference in Asia. teams and other teams,” concluded Smriti Mandhana.
