Pep Guardiola is in the last year of his contract with Manchester City.
The 53-year-old’s contract at the Etihad expires at the end of June next year and he has yet to give any indication that he wants to renew.
City, of course, want their star manager to commit his future to the club.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager is in his ninth season in charge and is on course to lift his seventh Premier League title.
City hopes to extend Pep Guardiola’s contract
And while the club are calm about the manager’s contract coming up soon, formal talks over a renewed deal are expected to begin soon.
according to Football TBRManchester City officials are willing to offer the 53-year-old a “continuous contract” and include some unusual clauses; one of which could allow him to leave his role whenever he wanted.
Guardiola, who was born in Santpedor in 1971, has typically negotiated his previous two contracts in the winter months, but there is no guarantee that trend will continue this year.
It would be fair to assume the Spaniard is waiting to see the outcome of City’s legal battle which sees the club facing 115 charges of financial misconduct. A final verdict is expected early next year.
