Bridgestone’s new line of Tour B golf balls has been on the PGA Tour for less than a month, but is already off to a hot start.
With Chris Gotterup’s Second win of the season at the WM Phoenix Open comes just three weeks after his first, Bridgestone 2026 BX Tour ball has made a good debut.
The new Tour BX features a new core material called Velo Surge, which in testing (in which Gotterup and Jason Day participated) showed an average increase of 2.3 mph in ball speed and 8.7 yards of added distance compared to other new Tour B balls. Tiger Woods also said he saw an increase in ball speed and confirmed he would use the new ball upon his return to competition in 2026.
“With the new TOUR BX, I’m getting maximum speed and distance off the tip, and full control when it matters most around the greens,” Gotterup said in a release. “As far as I’m concerned, this is the best golf ball I’ve ever played, and the sky’s the limit for the rest of the season.”
Gotterup has been playing the Tour BX since signing with Bridgestone in 2023, which is the longest and strongest ball in Bridgestone’s lineup. Woods also switched to the model in recent years from the softer and softer Tour B XS.
