After his first pre-season test with Yamaha, Torak Razgatlioglu is realizing how difficult it is to adapt from World Superbikes to MotoGP.
Things did not go well for the Iwata factory as none of their riders took to the streets on day two of the Sepang test. Yamaha Fabio Quattararo’s bike had an engine problem and stopped all work to solve it.
Razgatlioglu broke the engine During the test, it cost him valuable track time. The Turkish rider’s adaptation hasn’t taken a toll, and he admits he’s been struggling to adapt to MotoGP since his departure from WSBK.
Razgatlioglu was confused by Pramac teammate Jack Miller. followed by Malaysia. He couldn’t understand how he could run so fast on the long corners of Sepang, he had never ridden the track before.
The 29-year-old is coming with a new bike, tires and paddock, and has been trying a number of different tricks to get him comfortable with the Yamaha machine.

But, despite the change, he hinted that there were still problems: “I’m very strong when braking, but with this setup I lose on the straights and maybe a little bit because these handlebars are too high.”
“It’s not easy to support and go down. And normally this is not my style, I’m trying to adapt.” Obviously a lot more work is needed to fully adapt to MotoGP.
