Sam Ruth stunningly destroyed the rest of the men’s one-mile field John Thomas Terrier Classicwinning the world lead (later improved at the Millrose Games) World U18 overall best (also third all-time U20) and senior national overall record 3:48.88. Belgium’s Peter Sisk finished second in 3:50.31 NR ahead of Davis Bove (3:51.08 PB) and Foster Malek (3:51.39 NR/PB on the short course). Ireland’s Darragh McElhinney won the 3000m in 7:38.96. From France’s Romain Mornay (7:39.25), short track bests for both Vincent Ciatte (7:39.50 PB) and another Frenchman Flavien Szot (7:39.98 PB) and Carson Williams’ 7:39.21 PB to win the open race. Anthony Camerieri improved to 13:12.02 to win the 5000m Over Britain’s Scott Beattie (13:13.19) with Simas Bertashius of Lithuania winning the open race in 13:27.00 in the short course NR. African U20 champion Brian Kwei of Kenya topped the 800m in a short track PB of 1:46.02 ahead of Egypt’s Hazem Miawad (1:46.62 short track NR).
