There is no sweeter shot in the short game than one step with low rotation which stops at a dime. What is the secret? You can learn it with a simple exercise.
Enter your regular voice address position. Place your track arm behind your back as you see I’ve done above (left). Take a smooth one-handed swing (you don’t need a ball for this) and stop midway through the pass.
A few points to check: First, you’ve created more or less a straight line between your fore arm and club, and second, your wrist is flat. In other words, no excessive wrist “hold” or hinge. Hold this position, then place your trailing hand on the handle as usual (right).
Get a feel for the feel of this finish, because when you recreate it in actual photos, you’ll get that cool low-spin step that makes your friends say, “Wow!”
