“You can expect the best fight of the night,” Ortiz said on commentary Ring Magazine. “You can expect me with my hand up.”
Entering with the higher profile and the promotional push, Davis has already spoken publicly about moving up to welterweight and pursuing bigger fights later this year. That talk drifted past Ortiz.
The risk to Davis is not theoretical. He was visibly injured in his last fight by Nahir Albright, a fighter not known for striking power and not positioned as a contender. Ortiz believes that kind of moment could arise again.

“I have more tools,” Ortiz said. “Those tools will be shown.”

Davis, by contrast, has been moved cautiously since turning professional, benefiting from a steady push following his Olympic run.
