Jamaine Ortiz faces Shakur Stevenson if both win Jan. 31

Ortiz said the scenario appealed to him because of the storyline and the visibility of the card, which will be attended by Turki Alalshikh. However, Ortiz’s expectation does not fully align with Stevenson’s stated plans.

Stevenson has publicly stated that he intends to vacate the WBO title if he defeats Lopez. His focus has shifted to higher-profile business fights, with a move to 147 pounds under consideration. Possible targets mentioned by Stevenson include Conor Benn and Devin Haney.

If Stevenson vacates the belt, Ortiz will be in no position to challenge him for the title. Instead, Ortiz will be in line to face the next highest available contender, assuming he defeats Davis first.

Ortiz acknowledged the uncertainty but said he was focused on his own fight and the opportunity ahead.

“With the potential to fight the winner of the main event, it’s a good storyline and fight in front of Turki Alalshikh,” Ortiz said MillCity Boxing.

When asked directly if he expects to fight Stevenson if he wins, Ortiz simply replied, “Yes.”
