Ivan Ortola was fastest in Moto3 World Championship practice 1 on Friday afternoon in Motegi, Japan. Riding his MT Helmets – MSI KTM on Pirelli control tyres, the Spaniard set a lap time of 1’55.550, which was not only good enough to lead the 26-rider field, but also enough to break Jaume Masia’s 2023 all-time lap record. A record of 1’56.148
Angel Piquerras was second best with a 1’55.707 on a Leopard Racing Honda.
David Alonso was third fastest with a 1’55.717 on the Gaviota Aspar Team CFMOTO.
